How to swap LTC → XMR without KYC

Why Litecoin is the best on-ramp to Monero
If you hold Litecoin, you already hold the most practical bridge into Monero:
- ~2.5-minute block times — deposits confirm roughly 4× faster than Bitcoin, so swaps complete sooner.
- Sub-dollar network fees — moving LTC costs cents, which makes test swaps and split amounts cheap.
- Deep liquidity everywhere — virtually every instant exchange lists LTC pairs, so quotes stay competitive.
- MWEB (MimbleWimble Extension Blocks) — Litecoin's optional privacy feature can obscure amounts on the LTC leg when both wallets support it. Optional and weaker than Monero's always-on privacy, but a nice bonus, not a substitute.
The standard playbook: acquire LTC wherever is convenient, then route it into XMR through a no-KYC swap. Once inside Monero, the trail goes dark — but read the caveat below first.
The KYC caveat: where your LTC came from matters
For most people this is an acceptable trade-off: once in Monero, nobody can see amounts, destinations, or balances. But if your threat model requires that no record of the move into XMR exists at all, LTC from a KYC source doesn't achieve it — you'd need coins acquired without identity attached (P2P, mining, private purchase). Be honest with yourself about which category you're in.

Step-by-step: your first LTC → XMR swap
You can do it right here with the ChangeNOW widget, or on any service above:

- Set up a Monero wallet first. You need your own XMR receiving address — see our Cake Wallet setup guide if you don't have one yet.
- Compare the quote on two or three services (or once on Trocador). LTC's speed makes fixed vs floating less dramatic than with BTC, but fixed still removes volatility risk.
- Paste your XMR address carefully — ideally a fresh subaddress. Crypto transactions are irreversible.
- Do a small test swap first. With LTC's tiny fees, testing costs almost nothing — there's no excuse to skip it.
- Send LTC to the deposit address shown by the service, within the fixed-rate time window if you chose one.
- Wait for confirmations (usually minutes on LTC) and check your Monero wallet.
Safety tips
- Verify the domain, every time. Phishing clones of popular exchanges are common. FixedFloat is only ff.io — never fixedfloat.com. Bookmark official sites.
- Verify your receiving address on your own device. Clipboard malware can silently swap addresses — check first and last characters at minimum.
- Expect rare AML checks. A small minority of swaps get flagged for automated review and may require ID (estimate). LTC's speed doesn't exempt it.
- Compare the final quote against the live market rate — fees are baked into the rate, not itemized.
- Never swap more than you can afford to lose, and never from an exchange account that could freeze your withdrawal mid-process.
